Saturday 14th November to Sunday 15th November
Beginners will first start on a small piece of softcut to experiment or re-acquaint themselves with cutting techniques and then print the block, trying
different colours to see the whole process and possibilities. For those who would prefer a more sedate lino experience we will work on achieving a two
colour A5 print on lino over the two days. For others a more detailed, maybe larger linocut is possible. Students will work at their own pace, so no
expectations, the plan is to simply learn and enjoy the process.
We will be using water-based inks for speed as oil-based may not dry in time.
Please bring ideas, cuttings, sketches, flowers etc. to inspire.
Estimate £8-£10 material cost for the weekend.
Steven trained in Printmaking and illustration and worked for magazines and publishers for some years. He has been teaching on & off since the mid nineties
and has a studio in Frome. He now makes pottery and continues printmaking, as the decorative aspect of both appeals and he finds the processes are exciting.
