'Contemporary and abstract watercolour'
Ella Clocksin.

2018 Course listing coming soon.

Monday 24th to Friday 28th July
Experiment and move on with watercolour wherever you're starting from, beginner, a rusty returner or an experienced painter. The course is good for loosening up and painting in a more abstract or contemporary direction, supported by a mix of structured exercises, independent work, and individual feedback. Using the school buildings and immediate environment as starting points, you'll learn how to find interesting compositions in everyday subject matter, and to develop a body of finished works in glowing watercolour. There will be short technical demonstrations about working from observation towards abstraction, maximising colour impact, and watercolour's unique qualities and handling.
The tutor will provide essential artists' quality watercolour and paper at a cost of 20 for the week, which ensures everyone is using good quality materials.
Watercolour ELLA CLOCKSIN (Oxford) has 17 years experience teaching art, informed by work as a professional artist and Fine Art study to MA level. She demystifies drawing and watercolour, particularly supporting the journey from observational work to more abstract or contemporary work. She is currently Visual Arts Therapist at the School of Life in London, and formerly Visiting Lecturer in drawing at Winchester School of Art.

Course Cost for 5 days 205.
