'Altered Books Basics' with Heather Hunter.

Saturday/Sunday 3/4th March In this workshop we will investigate simple techniques to start respectfully altering a book. By first highlighting text that you want to respond to creatively we will then experiment with, strengthening and folding pages, cutting cavities and making pockets whilst retaining the quality of the book as an amazing piece of flexible engineering. The outcome will be a book ready to continue altering. There will be a materials charge of £5

Heather graduated in Visual Studies and was a teacher for most of her working life. Her art work has been artists' books; these involve all forms of printing, binding and paper engineering. Her books have won prizes in the USA and the Birgit Skiold prize at the London Artists Book Fair 2007 for an altered book.
