'Layers of Land and Sea': A Textile Approach with Amanda Hislop. |

Monday 23rd to Friday 27th To stitch or not to stitch.... the choice is yours. A course designed to stretch your creative imagination. Explore methods of layering paper, fabric and thread to form surfaces for stitch.Work with the layers in land and seascape imagery to compose on a fabric ground, trapping natural fragments and threads, and use acrylic paints and dyes to overlay colour. Experiment with the qualities of papers, and incorporate stitch into landscape compositions developed from your own personal material. The course is suitable for those with hand stitch, free machine embroidery skills and basic drawing and painting ability, as well as the more experienced. Above all bring an open mind and a willingness to experiment! There will be a materials cost to students of between £10- £15 |

AMANDA HISLOP is influenced by colours and textures within landscapes and natural forms. She combines painting,
drawing, fabric and free machine embroidered threads to capture images and integrate texture into and across the
surface of her original art work. A member of the Oxfordshire Craft Guild and Prism exhibiting group, Amanda has exhibited
her work at the Mall Galleries London, and in Oxfordshire including the O3 Gallery Oxford Castle. She has work in private
