Summer School 2012

General Information

VENUE:OXFORD SUMMER SCHOOL takes place in East Oxford at St Gregory the Great School, Cricket Road, Cowley, Oxford OX4 3DR. There is PARKING space (at your own risk) adjoining the school site. Your possessions are also brought on site at your own risk. NO DOGS are allowed in the school grounds & it is also a NON-SMOKING site.

DURATION:Courses run between Mon 23 July - Sat 28 July 2012, 9.30am - 4.30pm (most courses). Course details give the number of days each course runs – the full course must be paid for, there are no refunds for absent days.

COURSE GROUPS:For most Courses the maximum group size per tutor is 12.The majority of the courses are for adults.

TUTORS: Experienced professional people with national & international reputations chosen for their creative flair and ability to communicate with enthusiasm and good humour.

TUITION COSTS: £35 per day ( £210 for the full 6 days) with 10% concession for Full Time Students.

DEPOSIT: £50(non-returnable unless course is cancelled) to be sent with your booking slip. Cheque payable to E. Bryant.

BALANCE: NEEDS TO BE PAID BY THE END OF JUNE 2012 to be certain of your place. We will send out a reminder, map & course requirements in June or early July.

COSTS NOT INCLUDED: Course materials (costs given in the course details), mid-day snacks & refreshments, museum trips, entrance fees, & the concert evening on Friday 27th July.

CANCELLATION: Should you cancel during June/July 2012 your balance money will only be returned IF we can fill your place. We reserve the right to cancel courses if there are insufficient applications and full refunds will be made promptly. You should consider taking out cancellation insurance, particularly if you are booking accommodation.

ACCOMMODATION: We can send you an accommodation list or you can see this same list on www.stayoxford.co.uk. The Summer School venue is in East Oxford not far from the Cowley shopping centre. It is within 20 minutes walking distance from Iffley Rd where there are numerous Guest Houses. The Youth Hostel is on oxford@yha.org.uk

CAFE: This opens daily at 8.30am & provides various hot & cold drinks. Healthy sandwiches are made to order daily & there are other snacks on offer.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDENTS are very welcome (but require a working knowledge of English) & the week provides an excellent opportunity to learn and practice English in a working situation throughout each day.

FRIDAY 27th July is a very special social evening at the Summer School with a public concert celebrating the work of the Vocal and Instrumental workshops and African Drumming group, and offering an insight into the other courses. Tickets available during the week from the exhibition hall and cafe.
