'Write Away' with Michael Harrison.

Monday 26th to Wednesday 28th This course is for those who have not yet had the confidence to start on creative writing or who have juddered to a stop. Through a variety of exercises in the mornings you will develop your skill and your confidence, with time for more sustained writing in the afternoons. It is embarrassment-free — no reading out for group criticism! We work on poetry, on narrative, both fiction and non-fiction, and on journals. The course is particularly designed to enable you to continue happily in the future. Our aim is creative self fulfilment rather than publication.

MICHAEL HARRISON has published about fifty books for children & five for adults, including poetry, fiction and a variety of non-fiction books. He has taught on eleven previous Oxford Summer Schools & has taught similar courses for Oxford University's Department for Continuing Education.
