'New Directions With Knitting' with Susanna Reece and Kate Macdonald.

Wednesday 28th to Saturday 31st Take your hand-knitting in new directions with this innovative course.We will knit without traditional patterns, using a variety of fibres and other materials, including beads and wire. You will be able to try out new techniques and experiment with different possibilities for knit, from fabric to sculpture, exploring the boundaries between knitting as a craft and an art form. There will be an opportunity to design your own small project from scratch, working from a design source and using a sketchbook. The course is open to anyone who can knit and purl, whatever their experience.

SUSANNA REECE is a handknitter interested in exploring knit as an artistic medium as well as a craft. She is a member of the Oxford Guild of Spinners Weavers and Dyers and demonstrated her work there during Art Weeks 2008. 'www.stileassociates.co.uk' KATE MACDONALD has been a member of the Oxford Guild since 2005. There she has run workshops on knitting with wire & beads and demonstrated natural dyeing and spinning.

Course Cost for 4 days £140. Materials will be available for purchase and/or you can bring anything and everything you think you would like to knit with! There will be no materials costs but there will be materials to buy during the course if required (approximately £10). Non Refundable Deposit £50.
