'Innovative Fabric Books- "Nested Inspirations"' with Kristin Steiner.

Thursday 29th to Saturday 31st This new class offers the perfect marriage of paper and fabric, resulting in a fabulous mixed-media book. Delight in recycling old papers and bits of cardboard, combining them with favourite fabrics to create this house-shaped book. Layers and texture are explored using gesso and moulding paste. Collage ideas are demonstrated using old atlas pages, paint and dyes. Canvas is embossed and painted to make a mini-book for an inside pocket. Simple binding and finishing techniques using eyelets and bits of nature are demonstrated. And finally, create your own whimsical three dimensional bird to dwell in your little house of nested inspirations. This inspiring class is perfect for all skill levels.

KRISTIN STEINER is an accomplished teacher and fabric artist from the USA. Kristin’s own work is featured in The Art of Fabric Books and Altered Board Books and Beyond. She writes frequently for several magazines. Kristin teaches extensively throughout the US and runs her own creativity workshops both at home and in Italy (‘Adventures in Italy’).
