'Calligraphy'
with Sylvie Gokulsing.

Monday 26th to Friday 30th

This workshop will suit both beginners and those with experience. Beginners will be introduced to calligraphic tools and materials. After initial mark-making, students will learn how to write calligraphic Roman Capitals. Following completion of the alphabet, we will look at the Foundational hand: letters which sit well with Roman Capitals. Students will work on a small set project and then on an own choice project. Guidance will be given. For those with calligraphic experience, there will be a choice of working through variations of these two scripts or of working on their own project throughout if they so wish. Participants will have at least one piece of completed work to take home by the end of the course.
