SUMMER SCHOOL 26th July-31st July 2010 |

'Beginning Books' with Michael Harrison. |
|
Thursday 29th to Saturday 31st This course has two parts which work perfectly together. The emphasis each day is on the learning of a different, simple, but ingenious book structure (each of which leads to endless variations). To fill the books I teach you a foolproof method of moving from an empty mind to a full page. The day’s writing fits the day’s book structure, with attention paid to the design of the book as a whole. In this way you create a series of little books. We work on poetry, narrative, and journals. Everyone will take home clear instruction sheets, lots of samples, some beautifully finished books containing writing to be proud of, ideas on how to move forward, and lots of confidence. |

Standing on its own, 'Beginning Books' uses a different approach and different exercises, so could make a good reinforcement for the 'Write Away' Course - or be taken separately. |
