SUMMER SCHOOL
27th July-1st August 2009

'Knitting Know - how'
with Susette Palmer.

Monday to Friday

Learn the latest in tips and techniques to enjoy knitting and develop your ability. Bring a project you need help with or would like to design, or choose one from the multitude of patterns and books which will be available. There will also be an optional class project to develop your knitting knowledge and tutorials in stitches and techniques. Tutorials are closely tailored to the wishes of students but will certainly contain essentials for developing an original design or adapting a commercial pattern and will cover professional finishing of your work. Last year the course covered gloves, bags, shawls, adult and children's garments, and decorative flowers.
Susette is happy to discuss students' projects and ideas beforehand so that they can get the most out of the week.
SUSETTE PALMER has a design diploma from Harrow School of Art and a certificate in World Art and Artefacts from Birkbeck. She teaches knitting and creates garments for individual clients. She is a compulsive knitter and enjoys teaching others. She is currently working on a book of glove patterns. She runs weekly classes in NW London and has taught at Summer School for the last two years helped by Roni Goldberg, whose knowledge of available modern patterns is second to none and who will be with her again this year.
