Monday to Friday
This course offers an introduction to the art
of Botanical Illustration; or a chance to
improve your drawing & painting skills.
Students will be taught to observe closely
& draw accurately from a variety of plant
subjects. Basic techniques will be covered
– from stretching paper – to design &
composition – accurate drawing & the use
of pencils, pen & ink, & water-colour.

VALERIE PRICE
having gained a
degree in Scientific Illustration, has
worked as a freelance Botanical
Illustrator & teacher. Her work has
appeared in publications by the
Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew; The
Royal Horticultural Society; Collins;
Dorling Kindersley; Quarto; Conran
Octopus & many others. She has
taken part in exhibitions in London &
America. She is currently teaching at
venues in Oxfordshire. Her work is
available for commission.
