Wednesday to Saturday
A workshop designed to take you from drawing to stitch in four creative days with
an emphasis on experimenting. An expressive and creative approach to the
interpretation of natural forms through drawing with stitch, is combined with an
exploration of layering surface techniques, using dyes, paints and inks to lay washes of
colour over layered paper and fabric grounds, to give subtle textured surfaces to
work on with free machine embroidery and hand stitch to further embellish and
manipulate. Techniques will be explored to develop a series of experimental samples
through to a finished piece – enjoy an exciting opportunity to stitch, draw and paint.
