GENERAL INFORMATION
VENUE: OXFORD SUMMER SCHOOL is based at Oxford Community School, Glanville Road (off Cowley Rd), Oxford OX4 2AU. There is PARKING space (at your own
risk) on site & in the adjoining street. Your possessions are also brought on site at your own risk. NO DOGS are allowed in the school grounds & it is also a
NON-SMOKING site.
DURATION: Courses run between Mon 28 July - Sat 2 August 2008, 9.30am - 4.30pm (most courses). Course details give the number of days each course runs – the full
course must be paid for, there are no refunds for absent days.
COURSE GROUPS: For most Courses the maximum group size per tutor is 12 (a few are 10).
Most of these courses are for adults.
TUITION COSTS: £33 per day – £198 for the 6 day week. 10% concession for Students/Senior Citizens (but there are NO concessions for off site courses)
DEPOSIT: £50(non-returnable) to be sent with your booking slip. Cheque payable to Elizabeth Bryant. (NOT Oxford Summer School)
BALANCE: TO BE PAID BY THE END OF JUNE 2008 if you want to be certain of your place. We will send out a reminder, map & course requirements in June/July.
COSTS NOT INCLUDED: Course materials (costs given in the course details), mid-day snacks & refreshments, Museum trips, entrance fees, & the Concert
on Friday evening.
CANCELLATION: Should you cancel during June/July 2008 your balance money will only be
returned IF we can fill your place. Do you need to insure against cancellation?
We reserve the right to cancel courses if there are insufficient applications and full refunds will be made promptly.
ACCOMMODATION: We can send you an accommodation list or you can see this same
list on www.stayoxford.co.uk. The Summer School is half way down
Cowley Rd & is within 20 minutes walking from Iffley Rd where there are numerous Guest Houses. YHA is on oxford@yha.org.uk
CANTEEN: This opens daily at 8.30am & provides various hot & cold drinks. Healthy
sandwiches are made to order daily & there are other snacks on offer.
A NURSERY SCHOOL (01865 717139) is opposite the school entrance or if you
are wanting ACTIVITIES for CHILDREN 4-14 yrs call 01865 773502 or
TUTORS: Experienced professional people with national & international reputations chosen
for their creative flair & ability to communicate with enthusiasm & good humour.
FOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDENTS are very welcome & the week provides an excellent
opportunity to learn and practice English in a working situation
throughout each day.
FRIDAY 1 AUGUST is a very special social evening at the Summer School where the
Musicians, Dancers & Film Makers put on a public concert celebrating the
music/dance/film workshops.
