Wednesday to Saturday
This four day course will inspire your creativity and
most importantly of all-be fun! These fabulous dolls
combine nostalgia with contemporary textile
techniques. Natural and recycled materials are used at
every opportunity in order for you to create an original
and beautiful keepsake of your own design.
The course can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of
experience and the figures can be created using
hand or machine stitching or a combination of both.
During the course you will generate your design and be shown how
to create a felted fabric panel. You will go on to add stitch and
embellishment to the panel before using it to create the main
structure of your doll. You will then be taken through all of the
steps needed in order to complete the making of your own creation -
no two dolls are ever the same.

Sue Allan has a diploma in Stitched Textiles and has been working as a teacher
and designer for a number of years. Sue developed a real love of felt 15years ago,
when she was first introduced to making it, and has gone on to experiment with the
felting process and involve it in many of her textile products. In recent years
Sue has been combining felt with fabric in order to create soft naturally textured
surfaces. It is this technique that Sue has incorporated into the making of her
award winning figures - the Fabulous Dolls.
