Monday to Saturday
Learn some of the skills & techniques of artistic metalwork while creating beautiful
sculptural wall hangings from steel, copper & brass. The course encourages anyone
who feels drawn to metal, doesn’t mind noise, getting dirty & desires the satisfaction
of producing something unique. The course is taught in a fully equipped workshop. You
will learn workshop safety; how to use oxy- acetylene; power & hand tools; design and
template making; shaping, brazing, grinding, polishing & heating to bring out
the metals’ natural properties & colours. Students will first try out metalwork
techniques by making a fish or a butterfly, then with help, complete their own design
– a marine creature, animal, insect, reptile,
bird, or abstract creation.
