Design & create your own wondrous beasties. The felt creatures are made on an
armature & then felted & sculpted. On this three-day course you will start with
an introduction to flat & three-dimensional felt. You will learn how to design &
construct the basic skeleton, how to build up the shape & then prepare the finishing
layers, mixing colours & adding detail. You will be shown how to felt & sculpt your
creature & then how & what to apply for the finishing touches. The course will take
you through all the steps to the production of a whimsical & unusual creature.

SUE PEARL studied textiles at Bradford & London Guildhall University gaining a diploma in
weaving & an MA. Sue is now involved in all aspects of felt making, running workshops in schools throughout
Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and London as well as in her own studio in Bledington. She has work in private
collections throughout the UK & has exhibited internationally. She has a book ‘Making Felted Friends’ and a
DVD available called Felt Magic which teaches the basics of felt making.
